Stela
was brought to the Dehiwela shelter by a child who found her as a tiny kitten in a drain near their home, and saved her from being attacked by crows. She has blossomed into a healthy, happy cat that loves cuddles, rubs and to be stroked.
Menike
was entered into the Dehiwela shelter after losing her hind legs in a road accident. She’s a fiesty girl, loves to take the occasional nip, but gets away with it due to her breathtaking beauty. She won our online Avurudu Kumari contest in 2024.
Ella
was adopted from our Dehiwela shelter by a family who had just lost their cat. She gets on wel with their dogs, loves to overeat, cuddle and snuggle and has blossomed into the most instagrammable cat choosing the funniest locations to lounge.
Cookie
was part of a litter of seven pups left at the gates of the Dehiwela shelter. Each pup was completely different from the other! Four pups, including Cookie, got adopted but three remain at the shelter, stil waiting for their forever homes.
Cindy, Sandy & Mandy
were part of a litter of five pups brought into the Dehiwela shelter. Despite our best efforts, we could not find them homes. They have turned out into a riotous bunch, wreaking havoc and making mischief endlessly, but we love them so.
Lexi Chitty
was dumped at the gates of the Dehiwela shelter, along with 4 siblings. Just two weeks later, she was adopted by a guy who wanted a puppy who looked just like the puppy he had. She now rules his heart, along with her doppelganger. Al her siblings got adopted too.
Darling little Hiro
was brought into our Kahathuduwa shelter with 3 other sisters, each cuter than the other. She was the smalest and remained pint sized. She was adopted, returned and luckily, adopted again by a family that absolutely adores her.
Wilie & Pattie
were rescued from Wilpattu by two ladies who fel in love with them while camping and drove them back to Colombo. They are currently residents of the Kahathuduwa shelter and are inseparable though they have many other friends.
Gemmie
This card features Gemmie, a long term resident of the Dehiwela shelter who lost both hind legs due to a horific road accident. Despite this setback, Gemmie remains loving and sweet, wins over al our visitors and volunteers, and loves, loves, loves a good bath.
Marco
Marco is an accident victim whose front leg had to be amputated, but that hasn’t stopped him from being super active and loving. He particularly loves people and other dogs too – he would be a perfect addition to an action-packed household.
